Watch the Namibian margin erode/denude over 300 Mio years. This animation was derived by converting time-temperature information from modelled apatite fission track thermal histories into equivalent amounts of overburden assuming a geothermal gradient of 25˚C/km. Apatite fission track data are only sensitive to temperatures below ~110˚C. If you use this animation please cite:
