    Watch the cooling of central Namibia's shallow crust over the last 300 Mio years. This animation was derived by extracting time-temperature information from modelled apatite fission track thermal histories. Apatite fission track data are only sensitive to temperatures below ~110˚C. If you use this animation please cite:

This animation was derived by converting time-temperature information from modelled apatite fission track thermal histories into equivalent amounts of overburden assuming a geothermal gradient of 25˚C/km.
