Introduction

Tectonic/surface feedback processes

Global scale tectonics play a primary role in creating topography. In simple terms we observe that all the world's high mountain belts are formed along convergent pate boundaries and all the interior of continents tend to be lower with lower relief. However, the interaction and feedback between tectonics and surface processes is not quite as simple as these observations suggest. On this site I am presenting quantitative measurements and case studies from various parts of the world to enhance our understanding of tectonic-surface feedback processes of passive margins.
